Bighorn Sheep Canyon Arkansas River White Water
Rafting!
The
Arkansas River's Lower Bighorn Sheep Canyon is located downstream of the more
popular Browns Canyon.
The white water rapids in Bighorn Sheep Canyon are often
compared to Browns
Canyon in difficulty. During higher water the waves can be somewhat larger
but the white water is usually somewhat less challenging than the white water
encountered further upstream on the Arkansas.
The Lower Bighorn Sheep Canyon of the Arkansas River has a
highway on one side and railroad tracks on the other, so we don't get a lot of
requests from individuals for this section. We only offer this option to groups
of 10 people or more that are looking for a new stretch of great white water
and that aren't concerned about being on a more remote section of the Arkansas.
