Colorado Bed and Breakfast Rafting Vacations!
A Special Trip for the Discriminating Rafter Inn to Inn
rafting is all-inclusive and perfect if you are seeking world-class excitement
with all the comforts of home. You will be rewarded with some of the best
whitewater in Colorado, fantastic views of 14,000' peaks, and the charm of the
Upper Arkansas River Valley. This is the Colorado Rockies at their finest!
We raft during the day and stop for the night at comfortable
bed & breakfasts located near the river. Day one includes a scenic one-way
downhill mountain bike trip on the historic Midland Railroad Grade or a
horseback ride in the heart of the Rocky Mountains.
On this top-quality trip our senior guides cater to your
individual requests. Included on the trip are tasteful meals served by your
hosts or at nearby restaurants. Your guide prepares a delicious picnic lunch
each day as well as evening happy hour drinks and hors d'oeuvres.
You can expect to be on the river from 10:30 to 2:00 on the
first day and from 9:00 to 3-4 pm on days 2, 3 and 4. Times spent on the river
are approximate depending on water levels. We also offer 2 and 3 day Inn to Inn
rafting. For more photos and information on what the rapids are like, visit our
Arkansas River page.
Sample Four Day Inn to Inn Trip Itinerary
Day 1: After enjoying a continental breakfast at our
office, we raft eight miles through the continuous
Narrows section and stay at
comfortable bed-and-breakfasts located near the river. Since our first day is
short, we include a horseback ride or a gentle scenic downhill mountain bike
ride on the old Midland Railroad Grade. Our evening meal is served family style
at the Inn or at Buena Vista's most popular restaurant.
Day 2: After breakfast at the inn, we raft through
Browns Canyon,
Colorado's most popular rafting section. Our destination for the night is the
town of Salida, home of Colorado's largest historic district. Many of the Inns
in Salida are beautifully restored Victorian homes where we transport you back
to the early days of Colorado. The evening's entertainment is up to the group;
go for a quick round of golf, bowling, a tour of Salida's many galleries, or
spend a quiet evening going for a walk or fishing in the river. A family style
meal is served at the Inn, or we will visit the group's choice of one of the
many fine restaurants in town.
Day 3: Depending on the group's preference, we may
raft Upper or
Lower Bighorn Sheep Canyons and
stay for another evening at a different bed and breakfast in beautiful and
scenic Salida.
Day 4: We raft
Bighorn Sheep Canyon or the
Royal Gorge and return to our
Buena Vista office at the end of the day.
