Wilderness Aware offers seamless vehicle shuttle services for adventurers exploring the captivating canyons of the Arkansas River in Colorado! Ideal for private kayakers and rafters, our efficient shuttles ensure worry-free adventures. Count on us to transport your vehicle reliably, allowing you to focus solely on the exhilarating experience of rafting in Colorado’s landscapes and stunning wilderness.
- Ensure a smooth start to your adventure with our vehicle shuttle services along the Arkansas River.
- Due to limited capacity, reserving your shuttle ahead is highly recommended for a stress-free experience.
- Submit the necessary Vehicle Shuttle Request form and payment in advance for a secured spot.
- Complete the mandatory shuttle liability form before dropping off your vehicle.
- Confirm that your vehicle is in proper working order, insured, and has adequate fluids such as gas prior to drop-off.
- Obtain a raft or kayak site pass as part of the prerequisites, see info below form for more.
- Vehicle with keys and completed liability form for the vehicle(s) being shuttled need to be available at or prior to the scheduled time of shuttle. If you are unable to print a copy to leave completed in your vehicle, you must stop by the Wilderness Aware office to complete it prior to the shuttle.
ARKANSAS RIVER PUT IN -JOHNSON VILLAGE
Private boaters may launch or take out at our private access near our headquarters on the Arkansas River at the Highway 24 bridge over the river in Johnson Village near Buena Vista. This is a take-out for trips launching in the Numbers or Narrows or even long trips launching in Pine Creek. Most commonly it is used for a put-in for Milk Run trips that take out at Ruby Mountain or Browns Canyon trips taking out at Hecla Junction or Stone Bridge. The cost for using the site is $10 per raft and $5 per kayak.
1 parking pass is included with each put-in. Additional parking passes are available for $5.
